Discover the unique charm of the city while swimming in lake Alster, framed by some of the most impressive architecture the city has to offer. The bike course takes you along the river Elbe and some of the city's best sights such as the Speicherstadt, Landungsbrücken, Reeperbahn, Fischmarkt and Elbphilharmonie. And finally you run along the shore of lake Alster past beautiful buildings and with great views over the Outer Alster and reward yourself with an unforgettable finish on the blue carpet in front of the magnificent Hamburg city hall.
With the sprint distance (0.5km/20km/5km) and the Olympic distance (1.5km/40km/10km), the World Triathlon Hamburg offers the right challenge for every level of performance and experience level. Fans of team events or those who would like to get a taste of the triathlonsport can also start as a relay on both distances.
In 2023, the World Championships will also take place as part of the World Triathlon Sprint & Relay Championships in Hamburg. This includes the World Triathlon Championship Series for elite athletes, as well as the Junior World Championships, the Age Group Sprint World Championships and the Elite Mixed Relay World Championships for elite, junior/U23 and Age Group athletes categories.
